Mission Statement:
Tommie Kunst Junior High School is a community of students, staff and parents dedicated
to developing the abilities and talents of individuals in a positive, supportive environment
promoting academic excellence. Students are encouraged to honor themselves, respect
and communicate well with others, and be self-motivated, life-long learners.

Our mission is to ensure every student flourishes by discovering their passion and purpose, exercising self-determination and developing the skills to reach their maximum potential.

School Profile:
Tommie Kunst Junior High School is located in Santa Maria and serves students in grades seven through eight following a traditional calendar. At the beginning of the 2024-25 school year, 912 students were enrolled, including 12.6% in special education, 21.7% qualifying for English Language Learner support, 0.7% foster youth, 19.0%
