Students receive a standards-based, challenging curriculum provided by a dedicated professional staff and based on the individual needs of the students. Tommie Kunst Junior High School is a community of students, staff and parents dedicated to
developing the abilities and talents of individuals in a positive, supportive environment promoting academic excellence. Students are encouraged to honor themselves, respect and communicate well with others, and be self-motivated, life-long learners. Through physical, social, and intellectual opportunities, students strive to be the best they can be. 

School Profile
Tommie Kunst Junior High School is located in Santa Maria and serves students in grades seven through eight following a traditional calendar. At the beginning of the 2021-22 school year, 992 students were enrolled, including 12.2% in special education, 19% qualifying for English Language Learner support, and 83.9% qualifying
for free or reduced price lunch.
